What is an NIE number and how do you get it in Spain?
The NIE (Número de Identificación de Extranjero) is your foreign tax identification number in Spain. It is required for any financial transaction, including buying property, opening a bank account, or paying taxes. You can apply through the Spanish consulate in your country or directly at a police station in Spain.
